Bought these for my son who wanted to try a thicker reed. He loves them!
Help answer the question about Rico Royal
Question about Verizon Wireless service in Puerto Rico/Royal Carribbean ship?
Hi, I was wondering if Verizon Wireless Rico Royal gets cell service in Puerto Rico (San Juan) or while out at sea near islands such as Barabados. I figure that I will be roaming but will texts still go through? Do roaming texts cost extra even if I have unlimited texting? Thanks

My son plays Sax & I bought these reeds for him. They work well, but don’t last very long (wood reeds generally crack or mold over a short period of time). I found out about some new plastic reed that is very expensive, but lasts a lot longer than wood reeds… I’ll try the plastic kind next time.
The reeds are fine (as far as I can tell – I’m just learning) and the transaction went without a hitch.
I’ve tried several other brands, including synthetic, but these are the first clarinet reeds I’ve purchased that ALL played well right out of the box.
This is a solid reed for school kids. I would give a better mark had the reeds been less inclined to chip.
Just what we ordered and on time delivery as well. Two thumbs way up!
As a long-time clarinetist myself, and mom of a beginner – I’ve always been a fan of Rico’s value-priced reeds. The Rico Royals perform well, hold up to some abuse, and provide good sound…plus, for this price, you can afford to replace often when your student mistreats them. Also great for outdoor use (marching band, etc) where pure tone isn’t required.
Seller accidentally sent us plain Rico. I called and they immediately sent out the Rico Royal without hassle and just let us keep the plain Rico.
My son likes these just as well, if not better, than the more expensive alternatives. I find they do produce a nice tone, but don’t last quite as long.
The reeds are for my daughter who is in Jr. High band. She is considered 1st chair, by the band teacher and a professional clarinetist who has a son in the band, but they don’t use the “chair” designation because someone’s feelings may get hurt.
She likes these reeds, on par and a little better than the standard Vandoren reeds. She rated them 4-1/2 but I can only put whole stars.
